Feeling the Love
Allow me to get sappy for a moment.
Because I’m feeling the Tuscmoms love and I just wanted to share.
Since we launched in November, we’ve been slowly gaining members. There’s a core group of moms who have been here since the beginning. And now there are new moms logging on every day. And the members who found us months ago are so excited for and welcoming to the newcomers. It makes me smile.
You know what else makes me smile? Thinking about Babypalooza. As you all know, Tuscmoms had a table at the big baby festival that took place at University Mall over the weekend. And man was our table hopping. I had hoped we’d be popular. But the event exceeded my expectations. So many moms visited our table and signed up and were truly interested in our online community. I love watching Tuscmoms grow.
But I’m also smiling because I didn’t have to do it all alone. A few moms from our Tuscmoms community volunteered their time to help me out. This meant so much to me because, as you all know, weekends are so very busy. And a mom’s time is precious. I know many of you would have loved to help out too but you had previous engagements and things going on. Believe me, I understand.
But I just wanted to take a moment to capture the camaraderie at our table.
This is amazing because we had never “hung out” before – only online. Yet, I felt so comfortable with these women. We laughed and chatted like old friends. I met their husbands and kids. And I could totally imagine all of us grilling out on a Saturday. I just marvel at how the computer can connect mothers in this day and age. And then when you meet up in real life the conversation simply continues.
It was also wonderful the way fellow Tuscmoms members dropped by the table to say hello. How cool to put faces to (screen) names. We were all genuinely happy to “meet" each other, though we’ve been talking for months.
It is my hope to gather more of us face-to-face with the Tuscmoms book club (our first meeting is April 30, check out this link if you want to get involved: Tuscmoms Book Club first meeting chat), meet ups with our kids and even a Mom’s Night Out where we can all gather without kids and relax and have a drink.
Judging from the good vibes going on at the Tuscmoms table Saturday, I think our community will become even more fun and fulfilling. And that makes me smile big.
